GST Registration

GST is a broad-based consumption tax levied on the import of goods (collected by Singapore Customs), as well as nearly all supplies of goods and services in Singapore. In some countries, GST is known as the Value Added Tax (VAT).

The company must determine if you are applying for compulsory or voluntary GST.

  • Giro Application (optional for Compulsory Registration)
  • Acknowledgement page from E-learning Course (optional for Compulsory Registration)
  • Copy of signed contract, quotation, purchase order, rental agreement, etc. if you have not started sales/received payment

Note: More documents will need to be provided in case by case basis.

Requirement

  • For voluntary registration, the company director / sole-proprietor/ partner/ trustee must complete two e-Learning courses and pass the quiz.
  • Cooptech must first be authorized in CorpPass by company to be able to access the GST registration e-service on myTax portal.

Related Regulations

  • Compulsory Registration — Retrospective View – Your taxable turnover at the end of any calendar year on or after 1 Jan 2019 is more than $1 million. (New!) You have to monitor at the end of every calendar year and register GST if your annual taxable turnover exceeds $1 million.
  • Compulsory Registration — Prospective View – If at any time, you can reasonably expect your taxable turnover in the next 12 months to be more than $1 million.
